Just got back from a day-long seminar with Edward Tufte, Yale professor emeritus and demi-god of data visualization. I think this chart on cancer survival rates was my favorite thing he showed all day - simple, informative, gorgeous. Also: boy howdy does that man loathe PowerPoint.
