Today in the not-exactly-useful-but-still-quite-cool department: a version of the iPad home screen I constructed in pure HTML and CSS. I’ve been tinkering with this on-and-off over the past week, and I think I’ve done a pretty fair job of replicating the real thing. (I’m particularly proud of the Mail icon and the About pop-up.) Sadly the page is Webkit-only, but those of you using Firefox/Opera or still limping along on IE can at least glance at the screenshot above, taken straight from Safari 5. I’m pretty happy with where this is, so unless anyone notices any glaring mistakes, I think I’ll start turning my attentions to reproducing/improving Notes.app. Wish me luck!
